AMD ANNOUNCES RYZEN 5000 PROCESSORS BASED ON 7NM ZEN 3.

AMD has been gaining momentum in the market. In order to gain more market share, the company announced its new Ryzen 5000 mobile CPU in its virtual CES 2021 keynote speech.

In the announcement, AMD CEO Lisa Su declared that it is “the most powerful PC processor ever.” Some models of the new chipset are based on the 7nm “Zen 3” architecture, while some models are based on the older Zen 2.

The company has divided processors into two categories-the H series for games and content creation and the U series for ultrabooks. H series models are based on Zen 3 architecture, while U series models have Zen 2 architecture.

Both categories have four chipsets-Ryzen 3, Ryzen 5, Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9. The high-end product of the H series is AMD Ryzen 9 5980HS, which has eight cores and 16 threads, providing a 3.0GHz clock speed that can be increased to 4.8GHz.

The company also introduced a new HX chip aimed at “serious gamers.” The Ryzen 9 5900HX has 45W + TDP and will power the best gaming laptop of 2021, but no more information has been revealed about the upcoming hardware.

The high-end product of the U series is Ryzen 7 5800U, which is an eight-core, 16-thread CPU with a clock speed of 1.9GHz, which can be increased to 4.4GHz.

The company claims to provide up to 17.5 hours of universal battery life and 21 hours of movie playback time.

AMD CEO Lisa Su said that the company is expected to have more than 150 Ryzen 5000 series notebooks on the market this year. The first devices supported by these new chipsets are expected to be purchased starting next month.
