One of the new features of the new iPhone 12 model is MagSafe, which is nothing more than a magnetic charging and installation system. Apple has introduced it to build an accessory ecosystem. Apple provides two first-party MagSafe chargers, which are more expensive than the company’s other products. However, similar chargers from Baseus are 56% cheaper.
Baseus is one of the most popular accessory brands in China. The company sells a variety of products, such as chargers, power banks, casings, cables, earphones, etc.

It has quietly launched a new product called Baseus MagSafe Charger, model BS-W517. The charger is made of aluminum alloy and tempered glass. In addition, it has dimensions of 93 x 93 x 6.2mm and comes in three colors-black, gold and transparent.
In other words, it is larger than the official Apple MagSafe charger but has an eye-catching design.
For input, the charger has a USB Type C, and comes with a USB Type A to USB Type C cable, manual and warranty card.
The charger also has a green LED indicator. When the charger is idle, the light will glow brightly, and when in use, it will flash.
In addition, when any external object is detected, it will also open halfway. Speaking of charging speed, the Baseus charger can provide a maximum 15W threshold for iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. It also supports slower speeds, such as the 12W and 10W, 7.5W 5W and 2.5W charging modes of the iPhone 12 Mini.
As for input, the charger supports up to 24W power and is compatible with USB PD (Power Delivery) and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
Last but not least, because the product uses the Qi wireless charging standard, it can be used to charge all compatible smartphones and accessories on the market.
The Baseus MagSafe charger costs only 109 yen ($17), but unfortunately, it is only available in China for the time being. Hope it can enter other markets, because the official Apple MagSafe Charger sells for $39.
