Chinese giant Huawei Technologies, which has been sanctioned by the United States, is still launching new products and planning more for the future. Now, we know that the company is developing a new smart watch product line.
According to the latest information, the company has applied for the “NOVA Watch” trademark last week. As the name suggests, the trademark applies to the smart watch series that we hope the company will launch in the near future.
Please note that the Nova lineup is not new to the company because it has launched several smart phones under it, but launching smart watches under the Nova brand is undoubtedly new for the company.
It is reported that Huawei’s new Nova watch series will focus on fashion and target young people. Some people said that the reason behind the new Nova smartwatch lineup may be the independence of its sub-brand Honor, which caused Huawei to strip several devices from its product portfolio.
The upcoming product lineup will be a new member of the company’s wearable products, currently including Huawei Children’s Watch 3, Huawei Watch Band, Huawei Watch GT and Huawei Watch Fitness.
As for the company’s market share, Huawei ranks among the top five wearable markets in China with 9.41 million units shipped and 28.6% market share. By the third quarter of 2020, the total shipments in the Chinese market will be 32.93 million devices.
