Nova 8

Today, Huawei took to Weibo to confirm that it will release the new Nova 8 series smartphones in China on December 23.

It can be said that according to recent reports, the Chinese brand will announce the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro mobile phones through the upcoming unveiling event.

Although Huawei Nova 8 SE made its debut last month with the brand’s budget-friendly 5G phone, the upcoming Nova 8 may be a high-end mid-range phone, while the Nova 8 Pro may be a flagship device.

The poster released by the brand has the outline of the Nova 8 back panel. It shows that the phone is equipped with an oval camera case. This reminds us of the schematic leaked last month, which shows that the elliptical camera module of the Nova 8 can accommodate four to five cameras.

The brand has not officially confirmed the front design of the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro. There is speculation that the Nova 8 may have a flat screen with a double-punch design, while the Nova 8 Pro’s double-punch display may have curved edges.

Both phones are rumored to support high refresh rates. Ideally, the Nova 8 Pro should be powered by Kirin flagship products (such as Kirin 9000 or Kirin 9000E).

As we all know, due to the ongoing ban in the United States, Huawei cannot use the Kirin chipset. Therefore, it is not clear whether the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro are equipped with Kirin or Dimensity chipsets.

A recent leak indicated that the announcement on December 23 will see the arrival of two other devices, such as Huawei Enjoy 20 SE and Huawei Watch Fit.

The latter will be officially launched in China because it has been officially listed in the global market. There are rumors that the starting price of Nova 8 is 3,000 yuan (approximately US$459), while the starting price of its Pro brother products is 4,000 yuan (approximately US$612).
