In the CES 2021 event, Lenovo took the stage to showcase its brand new Legion gaming laptop product line, which updated its internal specifications. The new laptop uses AMD’s latest Ryzen 5000 series processors and is paired with NVIDIA’s second-generation RTX series GPUs.
At the event, the company announced its series of flagship gaming laptops Lenovo Legion 7. The laptop has been upgraded to a 16-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, a resolution of 2560 x 1600px, a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, and a response time of only 3ms.
In addition, the display can output 500 nits of brightness, and it has also passed Dolby Vision support and NVIDIA G Sync HDR 400 certification. This makes laptops an excellent choice for gaming and creative work.
Lenovo Legion 7 uses Team Red’s latest Ryzen 5000 series laptop processor under the hood, which is based on the 7nm Zen 3 architecture. Although the lower configurations and options are not yet known, users can choose high-end Ryzen 9 chips at most.
In addition to the powerful chipset, there are also NVIDIA RTX series graphics cards, most likely the new RTX 3000 series GPUs.
In terms of memory, the company also provides up to 32GB of 3200MHz DDR4 RAM and 2TB of M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD storage. The laptop will be launched in June 2021 and will cost $1,699.99.
LEGION SLIM 7:
For those users who are more inclined to portability and accessibility, the company also introduced the new Lenovo Legion Slim7. This notebook is a thinner and lighter gaming notebook.
It is even thinner and heavier than the previous 1.9 kg. According to the company, Legion Slim 7 is the thinnest and lightest Legion gaming laptop ever.
It is equipped with a 15.6-inch display and can have up to a 4K panel with a 60Hz refresh rate or an FHD panel with a 165Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, the company has not yet revealed the price of the laptop, but we do know that it will be launched in May 2021 according to TheVerge.

On the other hand, Legion 5 starts at $769 and will also offer chips up to Ryzen 7. However, it can be configured with up to 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB of SSD storage.
This laptop also uses a combination of Ryzen CPU and NVIDIA GPU, the only difference is the size of the display. The 15-inch model has an FHD panel at 60Hz, 120Hz and 165Hz, while the 17-inch model only has 144Hz and 60Hz.
