LG Display is expected to increase the productivity of its OLED (organic light emitting diode) panel factory line. The main reason for the expansion of production capacity is to dedicate the expanded production line to Apple.
The LPTO kit can also increase the production rate of 5,000 substrates per month, which has been installed. Therefore, by May of next year, 10,000 substrates will be added, and another 10,000 substrates will be added next month.
Equipment suppliers are currently waiting for the arrival of the South Korean technology giant, waiting for orders to be delivered in May.

According to reports, Apple plans to use LTPO TFT panels for its high-end iPhone models in 2021. The company has already used a low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) TFT process, and now basically adds an oxide TFT process.
LG Display will provide these panels to Apple and may have already obtained approval for its expansion plan, which will allow it to offer two of the four iPhone models it plans to launch next year.
