Nokia had intended to wrap up its Android 10 update list by Q2, yet that didn’t occur. In March, HMD Global pushed forward its Android 10 rollout course of events. The explanation is self-evident – 2020 has been a year of the pandemic.
However, the company is now set to be closing the roadmap by shipping Android 10 to one of the remaining two phones according to the original update timeline released last year.
ANDROID 10 UPDATE ROADMAP FOR NOKIA

Recently HMD Global chief product officer Juho Sarvikas announced on Twitter that the company has started rolling out the update to Nokia 3.1 users.
Nokia 3.1 users will receive the update at different times. That is because HMD has divided the rollout into sections with the first section covering 21 countries globally including Armenia, Tunisia, Morocco, and more.
Here’s the full list of countries served by the first section:
- Armenia
- Azerbaijan
- Bangladesh
- Belarus
- Georgia
- India
- Kazakhstan
- Laos
- Malaysia
- Mongolia
- Morocco
- Nepal
- Philippines
- Singapore
- Sri Lanka
- Thailand
- Tunisia
- Ukraine
- Uzbekistan
- Vietnam
50% of the countries under the first wave will receive the update by Oct 10th while the remaining should expect to see the OTA update by Oct 12th.
WILL NOKIA 3.1 RECEIVE ANDROID 11?
HMD Global launched the Nokia 3.1 in May 2018, running Android 8.0 “Oreo”. The device was updated to Pie a year ago and now Android 10. With that, Nokia 3.1 won’t get any significant Android updates in the future. However Nokia 3.1 users will receive security updates for at least another year.
