Recently, Samsung Galaxy A50s received the One UI 2.5 update. After this, the Galaxy A70 will also receive an update along with the November security patch.
As reported by Tizenhelp (via Sammobile), the Galaxy A70 is reportedly receiving an Android 10-based One UI 2.5 update in Europe.
However, it currently appears that the update only applies to Ukraine. In other words, Samsung may test the update first, and then expand to all areas where the Galaxy A70 exists.
The updated firmware version is A705FNXXU5CTK4 and weighs 1421 MB. As mentioned earlier, it includes the latest security patch (November 1, 2020) and improvements to the keyboard, Wi-Fi, and keyboard functions.
In addition, Sammobile’s report stated that the Galaxy A70 update was only launched for Kyivstar mobile network operators. This confirms the aforementioned theory that Samsung usually implements during its update cycle.
In any case, the new update seems to have added split keyboard support in landscape mode, and a YouTube search function on the Samsung keyboard.
In addition, users can now use Bitmoji stickers on Always On Display (AOD). For messages, users can receive SOS messages and location sharing via SOS every 30 minutes (up to 24 hours).
In addition to the regular One UI 2.5 update, the Galaxy A70 has also received a new Wi-Fi setting function. The user can now see the quality of the new connection and the Wi-Fi password request function.
Samsung has recently updated its mid-range Galaxy A and budget M series devices with One UI 2.5 and One UI Core 2.5, respectively.
The first A-series device to receive this update is the Galaxy A71, followed by the Galaxy A51. For the M series, Galaxy M21 is the first version to update One UI Core 2.5 before M31.
Earlier, the company launched the One UI 2.1 update last month, which includes features such as single shot, night super-interval shooting, my filter and more.
In any case, this is just an incremental update, and it will eventually get the larger One UI 3.0 based on Android 11 soon. However, unfortunately, the Galaxy A70 is not included in the A-series device list, so it can be updated for up to three years.
If you currently live in Ukraine, you can try to update Galaxy A70 by navigating to “Settings” -> “Software Update” -> “Download and Install”.
