OPPO’s annual event is called INNO DAY and is usually a highly anticipated event. This is because Oppo do showcase the amazing new technology it is developing. This year’s version is scheduled for November 17, and tomorrow, a new poster released by OPPO teases a concept device with a scrollable display.
The picture was posted on Weibo with the title roughly translated as “Big screen? Small screen? Unlimited screens? In the future, your phone may be free to take back.”
The poster shows a rendering of a mobile phone with a curved screen, with a display that can be expanded or retracted to change the size.
OPPO has joined a growing number of other manufacturers who work on phones with scrollable displays.

There are manufacturers such as TCL on the list, and they demonstrated rollable phones at the beginning of this year. A working prototype even leaked last month.
There is also LG obtained a patent for a mobile phone with a rollable design in 2019, and may plan to launch a mobile phone in the near future as one of the products of its Explorer project.
Earlier this month, the State Intellectual Property Office of China issued an OPPO patent with a scrollable display device.
The products that may be exhibited at tomorrow’s event may be based on the patent. OPPO’s post on Weibo clearly pointed out that this is a concept device, so don’t hold on to hope, hope you will buy it soon.
Nevertheless, a viable concept means that the era of rollable phones is getting closer and we can’t wait to think about it.
