Realme is committed to becoming one of the top 5 smartphone brands in Taiwan. The company seeks to achieve this goal by launching 5 to 6 mobile phone models to support 4G and 5G in 2021.
For those who don’t know, the Chinese tech giant used to be a sub-brand of Oppo. Chung Hsiang-wei, Chief Commercial Officer of Realme Taiwan, said that the company plans to expand its business in the region through new product launches and develop into one of the top five brands in the region.
In order to achieve this goal, the company plans to launch 5G-enabled devices priced below NT$10,000 (approximately US$355) in the second quarter of 2021.
Although multi-lens and high-pixel camera smartphones are becoming more and more common throughout the market, the executive believes that any device with 3 to 4 cameras is sufficient for most photo applications.
In addition, Realme also plans to develop its portfolio of connected devices or IoT products for personal, home and travel applications. This includes products such as wearable devices, small-size displays, healthcare products and other smart home devices.
