SAMSUNG TO LAUNCH GALAXY Z FOLD 3 IN JUNE NEXT YEAR.

Samsung will launch the Galaxy S21 series from the first quarter of next year. Reported that the South Korean company may cancel the Galaxy Note product line next year.

This may be why the Galaxy S21 Ultra is thought to come with an S Pen stylus. The latest report from South Korean publication Aju News pointed out that Samsung Electronics has confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 foldable phone will be unpacked in June 2021. It also claimed that the company will discontinue the Galaxy Note series.

According to this report, Samsung has begun to develop the final samples of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 for mass production.

This high-end foldable phone is expected to use Samsung’s latest technology, such as S Pen and under-screen camera.

Galaxy Z Fold 3 will have a dedicated compartment to accommodate the S Pen. Previous reports have shown that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will not be equipped with an S Pen compartment, but will provide support for it. As Galaxy S Fold 3 and S21 Ultra will provide S Pen support, Samsung will stop producing the Note series.

The report stated that Fold 3 will be officially released in the last week of June.

Although the company successfully installed an in-screen digitizer to recognize the S Pen, it was difficult to develop a tempered glass to prevent scratching the screen when using the S Pen.

Therefore, Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 2 do not have S Pen support. To enable S Pen support, Samsung replaced CPI film with ultra-thin glass (UTC) on the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

Since the first-generation UTC cannot provide S Pen support, Samsung Display and its subsidiary Dowoo will cooperate with Insys to develop the second-generation UTC, which may provide S Pen support on the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Recent reports indicate that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will provide a full-screen experience because it will include a camera with an insufficient display.

However, if the use of UDC causes a decrease in screen quality or photo quality, Samsung may exclude this feature from the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
