PS5

SONY PRE-SOLD MORE PS5 IN FIRST 12 HOURS THAN IT DID WITH PS4 IN FIRST 12 WEEKS.

Sony’s new gaming console PS5 is expected to be available for purchase starting from 12th of next month. But the company has disclosed that it has pre-sold more of the PS5 in it first 12 hours than it did with the PS4 in its first 12 weeks.

This was disclosed in an interview by Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Who said the company had pre-sold many PS5 consoles in the first 12 hours than it did with the PS4 in the first 12 weeks in the United States.

He further said the demand for the PS5 during this pre-order window “has been very, very considerable.”

Jim acknowledges that the company is facing supply issues, and not everyone who wishes to buy the console on launch day might be able to.

It may well be that not everybody who wants to buy a PS5 on launch day will be able to find one,” Jim said.

Jim however said the company is working hard to ensure availability of the PS5 this coming holiday season.

The PS5 was announced last month and is expected to be available by next month . It will be available in two variants, a standard PS5 with a Blu-ray drive and a digital version for those who prefer to go the download-only route. PS5 is priced at $499, and the PS5 Digital disc-less model will be retailing at $399.

The PS5 features an 825GB SSD, 16GB of DDR6 memory, 8-core CPU, a single HMDI Port, ethernet, three USB B ports, and a USB type C port.
