Xiaomi has launched a new fast charger called Mi 33W SonicCharge 2.0 charger in India. It is priced at ₹999 ($13) and has a single color option, which is different from the nubia 65W GaN Charger Candy. The power adapter also comes with a 100cm (1M) USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable of the same color.
Interested customers can buy from Mi.com, the company’s official online store.
The newly launched Mi 33W SonicCharge 2.0 charger is the successor to the Mi 27W SonicCharge charger in 2019.
The latter debuted in India as an optional accessory along with the Redmi K20 Pro. However, the POCO X2 launched in early 2020 will be shipped with the charger Similarly, the 33W charger is not actually a new product.
Xiaomi bundles this charger with Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro. On the other hand, POCO also comes with POCO M2 Pro and POCO X3.
Therefore, you might be wondering why Xiaomi launched it as a separate product? Because it is not only compatible with USB PD (power supply), but also supports Qualcomm QC (fast charging) 3.0, and can run at multiple speeds.

Therefore, it can be used in a variety of devices, and any non-Xiaomi can consider buying it because of its high price and availability.
When talking about other specifications, the model of the power adapter is MDY-11-EL and has a polycarbonate body.
It has obtained India BIS certification and has 380V surge protection. Last but not least, it can output current at the following rate:
- 5V/3A – 15W
- 9V/2A – 18W
- 12V/1.5A – 18W
- 9V/3A – 27W
